Hungary – Day 5

This was the first day that we started to taste any real bit of vacation.

We slept in for one.

Ennie took charge of packing all of the stuff we’re taking back home into our luggage and boxes. Very cool.

The only really official thing we had to do was get notarized copies of the death certificates — both the original Arabic one from Egypt and the official translated Hungarian one. We’re doing both since we don’t know which will be easier to deal with once we get back home. Better safe than sorry.

One copy needs to go back to Gyula to file with the state. The original comes back home with us along with a copy just for good measure. That needs to get translated and go to Social Security, insurance and anyone else that happens to ask for it.

We took a nice walk down the Duna again — this time with my brother and mom in tow. Then we went up to Hösök Tere (Heros’ Square) and walked back down Andrassy. A nice walk. Though it seems that my mom wanted to rush for some reason. Don’t know why though.

We picked up the copies and proceeded to take a nap.

Afterwards we went to Szent István (Saint Steven’s) but it was closed. We’ll go back tomorrow or Saturday to get the tour. Pete and mom need to see that too.

Dinner at a little sandwich shop… walk to get some coffee and internet…

Back at the hotel to drink some beer and sleep.

Thus concludes the day. And we fall asleep to some Blondie being played at a party nearby… not bad.
