New Lisbon, WI

Still on our way back… now we’re at the Travelers Inn in New Lisbon, WI.

Slowest internets I’ve seen in years. The tubes were faster in Teslin, Yukon. And that’s the next-door neighbor to the middle of nowhere. To hell with drinking through a fire-hose or even a straw. We’re talking syringe. If that.

Oh well. We’re safe and sound here. We’re only around an eight-hour drive from home now. So we’ll be getting our kitty cat fix tomorrow. (and there was much rejoicing)

Our tires have just enough thread to get us home too. But just. I’ll be spooning my old Tourances onto the new wheels when I get them from Woody’s Wheel Works.

By the way: if you ever need spoked motorcycle wheels, give Woody some business. He rocks. He offered to overnight me a set of spares to get me home. Thankfully I didn’t need them. The repair I did last night is meeting my expectations — no more pogo-ing down the freeway when above 75! Woohoo! Oh, I hear you scoff already, 75 is already too fast. It’s only too fast if you’re in a school zone (kidding), the highways we were on had limits of 70-75 mph, so you’d be unsafe to be under that!

How low were your tires. I think I have always changed my motorcycle tires too often, but better safe than sorry I guess. Were both low or just the rear?
