This is actually happening

I’m sitting here at 2 in the morning. I can’t go to sleep. It just dawned on me that this is actually happening. The thing that triggered it is looking at the shipping options for the business cards I’m getting for the trip. When I see “7 business days” it normally doesn’t make that much of a difference to me. Now, that’s half of the time I have left.

In three weeks I’ll be sleeping at the MOA rally in Wyoming. When I wake up that day we’ll be heading west toward Yellowstone. That’s only three weeks. Now I know why En’s been freaking out.

So, what’s left to wrap up before the trip? In the end it’s not that much. We’ve gotten a lot done in the past couple of months. There’s only a few more things left to buy or do.

Monday:

  • Order business cards – rush shipping
  • Laptop – I’m going to go for the MacBook (Not the pro version, just the normal one)
  • Call Verizon to get my service switched back in my name
  • Call up the camp in Watson Lake to see if it’s OK to ship up a tire

Next week:

  • iPhone car charger
  • 12v car plug adapter for the bike
  • Laptop backpack
  • Look into Frogg Toggs for me and En
  • Buy new cameras – Canon SD870, GoPro Hero 3

July 2:

  • Borrow and pack up En's dad's truck

July 3:

  • Drop off kitties at my mom's house and drive off to brushwood campground

July 5:

  • X-Day

July 6:

  • Return home

July 11:

  • iPhone day

July 12:

  • Mount new tires on the bike

July 14:

  • Ship knobbies up to Watson Lake

July 15:

  • Drop kitties off at my mom’s house
  • Pack the bike

July 16:

  • Leave, heading out to the wild, wild west.

This is actually going to happen. I can hardly believe it. I’ll feel better when I'm actually on the road. The suspense is killing me at this point. All this mixed in with the work stress with the crap that's going on at work, and trying to get projects done (or done enough) in the next two and a half weeks.

As much as it pains me to say it, maybe going to X-Day isn't the best idea this year. Especially with En's business trip that's just before our own trip. We'll see how things work out this week.
