Getting a new phone in a few hours

In just a few hours I’ll be getting in line to get an iPhone. For some reason Verizon thinks I have a 2 year contract. It’ll cost $150 or so to get out of it. I’m going to try to get out of that, but even with that, it’s money well spent. The XV6700 is an abortion of engineering. If I were anyone working at HTC (the company that made this device), Microsoft (the folks that made the OS) or Verizon (for even selling it in the first place) I would be both ashamed and embarrassed.

A few short hours from now the phone will find its final resting place in the trash — or worse. It doesn’t deserve the molecules that constitute it.`

In case anyone is wondering — the XV6800 is just as bad. It doesn’t have the antenna nub, but it still works as poorly. The newly announced XV6900, now in a stylish white, is likely to be equal to its predecessors in it’s overall appeal.

Sorry Verizon, you lose.
